Description

Kniphofia Mango Popsicle is a new, compact variety with long and early flowering in orange tones.

Originally from South Africa, formerly known as Tritoma, Kniphofia is a spectacular perennial with incredible flowers. In summer, it forms a robust stump, forming a rosette of lanceolate, quite fleshy leaves depending on the species. The flower spikes, well known to gardeners for their structural effect, are slender and bear a multitude of tubular flowers. The buds often change colour as they open, so the spikes often carry 2 to 3 different colours. Although some old varieties have improbable and sometimes unattractive colours, for almost 10 years, new varieties with softer hues or less "violent" gradients have emerged.

Moreover, for the reluctant ones, kniphofias are very easy to grow, they require very little, they thrive in all types of poor and well-drained soils, they grow on slopes, in rockeries, along gravel paths, etc. Combine them in contrast with grasses and you will no longer see Kniphofias in the same way!

Compact and well-structured variety, forming flower spikes with orange hues, this new tritoma reaches a height of 60cm (24in). An early and perpetual variety, it will start flowering in spring for 2 months and flower again in late summer.

Plant it in a sunny bed, in the company of compact plants, combine it with stipas, nepetas or achilleas.
