Description
The 'Rose de Tolbiac' Rose Bush is a beautiful novelty that will seduce lovers of large bushes with nostalgic roses in an old-fashioned style but with repeat flowering and a good natural resistance to diseases. It can be grown as either a small climber or a free-standing bush, offering clusters of double flowers in a soft pastel pink mixed with tender apricot and a very slight fragrance. A decoration for a romantic but also ecological garden!
The 'Rose de Tolbiac' or 'koraseipp' was named after the floralies of Zülpich in 2014 in Germany, Tolbiac being the Roman name for the city of Zülpich. This is a recent creation by the German rose breeder Kordes. It belongs to the floribunda rose category. This slow-growing variety forms a woody climbing stem bush in a few years, with branches reaching 2m (7ft) in length. When left to grow freely, it has a rounded and open habit, forming a mass of 1.5m (5ft) in height and 90cm (35in) in width. Its foliage is relatively resistant to diseases and reasonably light, shiny green. It has abundant flowering from June until the first frost. Beautiful red buds open into corollas resembling old roses, with a width of 8 to 10cm (3 to 4in), truly double, in the shape of slightly flattened cups and organized in quarters. Their decidedly pastel colour combines very pale pink and warmer pink at the centre.
The 'Rose de Tolbiac' is a small climber perfect for flowering on a trellis fixed to a facade or a small arch. Its growth allows it to grow without support in a flowering hedge alongside a clematis. It can be planted behind a formal flower bed where it will grow freely. If trained on an arch, it can create a romantic passage. You can easily create a bouquet by placing one of its large clusters into a vase.

Planting and care
The 'Rose de Tolbiac' rose adapts to any soil, as long as the planting is taken care of and it doesn't lack water or nutrients to get off to a good start. Plant it in well-worked ordinary soil, enriched with well-rotted manure, well-drained, and in a sunny location (avoid a south-facing wall) that will make it more floriferous. Plant it in autumn, never when it freezes. This rose sometimes takes a little time to establish itself, and its growth is slow. Very hardy, this rose can withstand temperatures as low as -25°C (-13°F). If you plant a climbing rose next to a living tree, the rose's root system will compete with that of the already well-established tree. To control watering, here's a tip: plant the rose in a large container with a perforated bottom at the base of the tree: the tree's roots will not penetrate the container for at least a year. Remove the container after 1 year, for example, by cutting one side without disturbing the rose's root system. The rose will have had time to develop its root system deeply and will be more resistant.
Roses may appear stained or unsightly at the end of summer. However, it is a natural phenomenon that doesn't harm their development.
