Rosier à grandes fleurs Simone Veil
Hello. Very disappointed this time, when the package was delivered, it was open at the bottom and the large staples were removed. I accepted the package since my rose bush, which I haven't planted yet, still seemed to be in good condition. The delivery driver told me that he didn't know what had happened ??? I just wanted to let you know. Kind regards.

Rose Simone Veil (Oracolhac) is a modern bush that bears large, double, turbinate flowers of a pure and vibrant red, with an elegant simplicity. Their fiery colour accompanies an intense and intoxicating fragrance, which can be appreciated both in the garden and in bouquets. The roses bloom from June to October on dark green foliage that is resistant to diseases. It is perfect in borders. The long-lasting flowers are ideal for making bouquets. It is a beautiful tribute to someone who embodies a great political and historical figure.
Rose Simone Veil is a modern rose with large flowers launched in 2015 by the Orard house, a rose grower since 1930. This variety won the Public Prize in Barcelona in May 2015. A bushy and compact shrub, it reaches an average height of 85cm (34in) at maturity. It has a rapid growth rate. The plant produces strong, thorny branches that bear foliage divided into large, thick, and toothed leaflets, with a glossy dark green colour. From May-June, the plant produces waves of 9 to 10cm (4in) flowers, with a shape that is both turbinate and elongated, characteristic of hybrid tea roses. The flowers are solitary or gathered in small clusters at the end of long shoots from the current year or by those that emerge from 2-year-old stems. The flowers will continue to bloom until October if faded roses are regularly removed. The foliage is deciduous in winter.
This rose looks stunning when planted in groups of 3, placed in the centre of a border, or paired with white or red roses. It also blends well with light shrubs, perennials, and annuals such as gaura, catmints, bellflowers, panicled phlox, or tall foxgloves. A herbaceous clematis with blue flowers like Clematis heracleifolia or Sollya heterophylla can be planted at its base in mild climates. Its roses are absolutely stunning in bouquets, combined with lilies and lilacs in summer or asters in autumn.
This superb rose was named to honour Mrs. Simone Veil on the 100th anniversary of the association "La Renaissance Française". Mrs. Veil was the Honorary President of the association.

Botanical data
Plant in a sunny location. Modern roses are tolerant, but do not like excessive limestone. They will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well worked, not too heavy, and sufficiently rich. To plant your rose, work the soil by crumbling it and add fertiliser to the bottom of the planting hole (dried blood or dehydrated horn, for example). Water generously after planting to remove any air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Provide your rose with special rose fertiliser that stimulates flowering.
Avoid pruning too short in the first two years.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
