Thanks to the staff (for order preparation and shipping), the rose bush I received is short but appears to be healthy. Planted near the 'Golden Showers' variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

Description

The bush rose 'Nevada' possesses a rare charm among cultivated roses. The white-cream petals with a hint of pink on the outside of the flower open up to reveal a beautiful corolla bristling with golden stamens. The flowering is continuous, but it is at the beginning and end of summer that the flowering is most impressive, when it is covered in these lovely little roses in dense clusters.

The habit of this bush is naturally well-proportioned, with lush foliage and long, lightly thorny branches that slightly bend under the weight of the flowers. To maintain this graceful habit for as long as possible, it is necessary to regularly remove dead wood. When planted alongside other bushes and perennials, it brings softness and lightness. When planted alone, it expresses all of its uniqueness.

If 'Nevada' is so special, it is also because despite being a relatively recent variety, its roses have an almost single corolla. This arrangement of petals in a single collar around the cluster of stamens is a characteristic of wild roses. This gives this variety a unique natural elegance.

Planting and care

Plant your 'Nevada' shrub rose in a partially shaded area where its flowers will be sheltered from the strong midday rays. Roses are tolerant but do not like excessive limestone. They will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well worked and sufficiently rich. This rose is not particularly susceptible to diseases, but if you notice stained or affected leaves, remove them without delay. To plant your rose, prepare the soil by crumbling it and adding an amendment, such as dried blood or dehydrated horn, at the bottom of the planting hole. Water thoroughly after planting to eliminate any air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Pruning 'Nevada' is essential to remove old wood, as without this operation, the rose will eventually become weak. When pruning, choose an outward-facing bud and make a diagonal cut just above it. Take advantage of this pruning to remove dead wood. As the flowers bloom, remove faded flowers, as this stimulates the development of other buds.
