More information

This coated seed mixture uses an innovative technique that allows for the quick and long-lasting renovation of a degraded lawn showing bare patches or even invaded by unwanted weeds. It creates a more resilient turf (to trampling, drought, cold, diseases, etc.) with a denser and deeper root system than a traditional lawn. The seeds are preferably sown in spring, in the sun, in well-prepared garden soil. The 1kg box allows for seeding 50m².

Description

This Premium Lawn Overseeding is a mixture of coated grass seed designed to renovate lawns with bare patches or areas invaded by unwanted plants. The coated seeds germinate more quickly at low temperatures, while the grass roots deeper and creates a dense and durable turf that requires little maintenance. This lawn remains green throughout the year in cool soil. This mixture is used in ornamental gardens, on any type of soil, throughout the year. The seeds are sown  by broadcasting from March to June or in September-October, in the sun, in well-prepared and loosened soil. The 1kg box covers up to 50 m².

Composition: 100% coated seeds.

  • Coating: Trichoderma (mycorrhizal fungus associating with plant roots) and specific NPK fertilizers for the grass varieties used in this mixture.
  • 100% English Ryegrass including RGA 4N, which has a superior resistance to trampling, drought, and cold, while presenting a more intense green tone.

Product characteristics and benefits:

  • Low-temperature germination (germination from 3-4°C (37.4-39.2°F) in the soil compared to 7°C (44.6°F) for a lawn composed only of 2N English ryegrass).
  • Stimulates lawn growth.
  • Repairs and renovates existing lawns.
  • Eradicates weeds.
  • Resistant to stress, trampling, weather, and diseases.
  • Density, fineness, and sustained colour throughout the year.
  • Quick and long-lasting installation.
  • Renovation possible throughout the year.

Usage and dosage:

  • 1kg: up to 50m²
  • Sowing rate: approximately 20 g/m²

In the hottest and driest regions it is almost impossible to obtain a lawn that stays green in summer without watering. Left unwatered it will often take on the characteristic appearance of a 'doormat', however it will turn green again when the rains return in late summer or early autumn.

Planting and care

Sowing:

Sow directly in place, from March to June (sow in September-October in hot and dry climates), in well-prepared, weed-free, refined and raked soil. Scatter the seeds on the soil surface and lightly rake to cover. Optionally, use a roller to ensure good seed adhesion to the soil. Regularly water with a fine rain to keep the soil slightly moist until germination if it doesn't rain.

Dosage:

  • 1 box of 1kg for 50m², approximately 20 g/m²

To overseed bare areas of the lawn:

  • Scratch the areas to be treated with a simple hand rake if they are small and few. For larger and more numerous areas, use a scarifier to aerate, loosen and remove any moss.
  • Rake the soil to remove plant debris and small stones.
  • Prepare a mixture of topsoil and compost.
  • Spread about 1cm (0in) of this mixture on the areas to be repaired.
  • Rake it in so that it penetrates the soil surface.
  • Smooth the surface with a roller or a board.
  • Sow your overseeding lawn seeds.
  • Cover the seeds with a very thin layer of the mixture and tamp down well.
  • Water with a very fine mist to avoid displacing the seeds.
