Hydrangea serrata Avelroz® ‘Dolmyf’ is best planted in autumn or spring, in partial shade. Morning sun suits it well if the soil remains moist; however, avoid scorching sites and drying winds. Plant it in a deep, humus-bearing, well-drained soil, acid to neutral, or very slightly alkaline. There is no need to fill the planting hole with pure heather soil: instead, mix mature compost or leaf mould into the garden soil to improve its structure and water retention. Water regularly for the first two years and during dry periods, then mulch the soil. In a pot, choose a large container with drainage holes in the bottom, and a humus-bearing growing medium that stays moist.
