We offer you a collection of 5 oleander plants in a mix of colours to create a 5m long and 3m high hedge (unpruned). Oleander is an evergreen bush emblematic of the seaside, especially in Mediterranean regions. We appreciate its long and generous summer flowering, sometimes fragrant, as well as its rapid growth and robustness in mild climates. Young plants are more sensitive to frost, but mature specimens can withstand brief frosts of around -8/-10°C in well-drained soil.
The kit consists of:
- 2 oleanders: this is the species Nerium oleander with single flowers, a fresh pink colour, and fragrance. It is the most vigorous of the three, easily reaching a height of 3.50m if not pruned.
- 1 white oleander: the flowers of this variety are single, numerous, and pure white, slightly fragrant. The bush reaches a height of about 3m in 10 years.
- 2 red single oleanders: this variety also reaches a height of 3m with a spread of 2.50m. This particularly floriferous oleander produces single, deep red flowers continuously from June to October if the soil does not dry out too much.
Oleander is a slightly frost-sensitive sun-loving plant that adapts to any deep and well-drained garden soil. It is a fast-growing evergreen bush, naturally branched, perfectly suited for creating a hedge. Ideal by the seaside, it can also be grown inland where winters are mild and summers are sunny. Resistant to drought after 3 years of cultivation, it will still be more floriferous in July-August if it has plenty of water.
Plant these bushes in the sun, mixing them and spacing them 1 metre apart. They will thrive in any well-prepared garden soil enriched with leaf compost.Â
Tip: Pruning oleanders requires some precautions: as the bush only flowers on young branches that have reached a certain length (generally the stems less than a year old, not too short), it is necessary not to cut back the entire branches in the same year, otherwise you will be deprived of flowers for the whole season.

Botanical data
Plant this collection in the sun in well-prepared soil, enriched with leaf compost, thoroughly loosened to a depth and properly drained. Dig planting holes of 30-40 cm in all directions, loosening the bottom and walls well with a fork or pickaxe. Respect a planting distance of 1 m between each plant. These easy to grow, undemanding, oleanders require only regular and deep watering in the first summers following planting. Water them abundantly (15-20 l of water each time) but spaced out in the first years if there is a marked drought.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
