4 stars because it's a bit skinny. Otherwise, the plant seems to be off to a good start. To be continued...

Description

Syringa Bloomerang 'Pink Perfume' completes the exceptional series of scented Bloomerang lilacs, enriching it with a new romantic pink hue. This beautiful novelty offers abundant spring blooms with a second flowering in autumn, highly scented. This beautiful bush will seduce with its compact habit and its branches luxuriously laden with dark pink buds blended with tender pink florets. It is a precious bush for small gardens and autumn beds, easy to grow in all types of soil, in full sun or partial shade. It can also be grown in a large container to bless the terrace with its sweet fragrance twice a year.

The Bloomerang Pink Perfume Lilac belongs to the Oleaceae family. It forms a deciduous shrub with a compact and bushy habit, reaching 1.30 m (4 ft 4 in) in height, and barely wider than tall, with foliage made up of small dark green leaves. Its growth is quite slow and its vegetation dense. Its lineage includes four different species of lilacs - a hybrid of Syringa patula x macrophylla x meyeri x juliana. This variety blooms abundantly in spring, goes through a period of rest until mid-summer during the hot weather, before flowering again with less intensity until the first cold weather. The flowers attract many butterflies.

Easy to grow, very vigorous and long-lasting, Syringa Bloomerang Pink Perfume is a precious asset for the garden, its late summer rebloom accompanying that of roses and tall asters. It can be planted at the edge of a grove in front of taller trees, in groups or on its own near the house, or as a free hedge mixed with other e.g. flowering apple trees, Japanese cherry trees, Chinese almond trees, Japanese quince, deutzias. This moderate-sized variety can easily be grown in a large container (such as an orangery pot), to be showcased on the terrace or balcony. Its beautiful fragrant clusters work well in spring bouquets along with garden irises, campanulas, and peonies.

Planting and care

The Syringa x 'Bloomerang' Pink Perfume prefers rich, deep, loose soils, close to neutral. The substrate should be moist to fresh and well-drained. It prefers full sun or light shade in a warm climate, as it flowers better when it receives maximum light. It is useful to cut off faded flower clusters to prevent fruiting, which is of no interest and exhausts the plant. This will promote more abundant flowering the following year. This variety blooms on both the shoots of the previous year and those of the current year.
