I just received them and planted them, but unlike the online description ("sol sec" - dry soil), the packet says "humide" - moist. So, what now?

Description

Curious little bulbous Mediterranean plant, called Iris tuberosa or formerly Hermodactylus tuberosus produces chartreuse green and black flowers!

Belonging to the same family as Irises, Hermodactylus tuberosus is native to the Mediterranean basin. It forms a stump emitting tubercles like small bulbs, from which in spring lanceolate, very narrow leaves emerge. The solitary flowers at the end of a small stem, velvety, are colored chartreuse green and have black spots.

The plant multiplies by bulblet and quickly forms beautiful colonies.

Easy to grow, it likes very well-drained, poor, limestone soils and above all, lots of sunlight to bloom! In summer, it goes into vegetative rest.

Easy to grow in any rocky and well-drained soil of a scree garden or gravel garden. It is in the latter that we cultivate this plant, more strange than beautiful, alongside Alstroemeria aurantiaca.
