Out of 3 ordered, 1 was not nice, you sent me +1 as a replacement, and I'm glad because the ugly one didn't come out, the others came out but that's all I can say about them." Analysis of the translated text: - The use of "nice" instead of "beautiful" is more appropriate in this context, as it refers to the appearance of the item. - The phrase "you sent me +1 as a replacement" accurately conveys the idea that an additional item was sent to replace the defective one. - The phrase "the ugly one didn't come out" suggests that the defective item did not meet expectations or standards. - The phrase "the others came out" implies that the remaining items were successfully received or delivered. - The use of "that's all I can say about them" indicates that there is no further information or opinion to provide about the other items.

Description

Eremurus 'Romance' is a bulbous plant with fleshy roots that blooms in summer. From June to July, its spike-shaped flower stalks are composed of a multitude of pale salmon-pink star-shaped flowers, adorned with coral stamens. The flowers open from bottom to top, creating a flowering period that lasts for several weeks.

Originally from Asia, Eremurus 'Romance' is a majestic plant that can reach a height of up to 1.5m (5ft). The bulb, formed by large fleshy roots surrounding a bud, resembles an octopus. This tuberous stump produces elongated leaves that can reach up to 1m (3ft) in height. The leaves are deciduous and dry up when the first flowers appear, making it ideal for perennial borders that can hide its bare base. However, the border should not be too compact to avoid suffocating this plant.

This outdoor plant can be grouped together or planted individually. It can be planted in borders, rockeries, and containers in small gardens. It adds a beautiful touch to patios.

Planting and care

Plant Eremurus 'Romance' during September-October in a sunny location, sheltered from the wind to prevent the flower stems from being damaged. Place it in rich, fertile, moist but well-drained soil. If it is not well-drained enough, you can mix sand with the soil at the time of planting; well-drained soil allows for better root development. Plant the young plants in autumn at a depth of 7cm (3in), no more, as it needs to be quickly warmed up when spring arrives. Winter moisture is fatal to it, so protect it with a covering of compost without touching the collar. The young shoots must be protected with a dry mulch. The plant does not require staking.
