Description
Leucojum aestivum 'Gravetye Giant' is a hybrid with larger flowers than those of the species. The flowering stems measure 60 to 80cm (24 to 32in) and add volume to semi-shaded areas during the flowering season in April.
Summer snowflakes have pretty white flowers with trailing bell-shaped blooms. The tips of the blooms are tinged with green, reminiscent of double-flowered snowdrops.
Plant them in clumps of 10 to 30 bulbs.
You can also use summer snowflakes to create spring bouquets. They last as cut flowers for nearly 15 days.
