La Tulipe Creme Upstar ( Creme Up Star) est une variété à fleur de pivoine dotée d'un ravissant coloris pastel, peu courant chez les tulipes. Elle rassemble sur ses corolles blanc-crème différents tons très doux, comme le rose abricoté et le jaune tendre, toutes ces nuances s'intensifiant en cours de floraison. Une compagne idéale pour les tulipes Upstar, Angelique et Orange Angelique, qui se mettent en valeur mutuellement! Floraison tardive, en mai-juin.
La Tulipe 'Creme Up Star' appartient à la famille des liliacées. D'origine horticole, obtenue en 1994 aux Pays-Bas, on la classe actuellement dans le groupe des 'Tulipes doubles tardives', dont la principale caractéristique est de présenter des fleurs très doubles et chiffonnées, portées par des tiges solides. 'Creme Upstar' est trapue (40cm) et sa fleur est de belle taille, très double et bien épanouie. Elle montre une excellente tenue. Sa palette de couleurs, changeante au fil des jours, comprend des coloriscrème, jaune pâle, rose perle à l'extérieur, l'intérieur de la corolle étant jaune tendre. Le parfum apporte un charme supplémentaire, et c'est un véritable coup de cœur, en particulier lorsque ses boutons s’ouvrent lentement dans un vase, s'effeuillant progressivement, comme une pluie de pétales nacrés. La floraison commence relativement tard, en mai, au moment où d’autres tulipes sont déjà fanées depuis longtemps.
Coloris variés, tendres ou éclatants, fleurs opulentes et naïves, les tulipes doubles tardives amènent fantaisie et romantisme en pots ou dans les jardins ensoleillés, en compagnie des plus jolies floraisons printanières ou de tulipes pastel comme 'Up Star', 'Double Sugar', 'Orange Angelique' et 'Maureen Double' ou, au contraire, sombres comme 'Reine de la Nuit'. N'oubliez pas de considérer la hauteur et la période de floraison lors de la conception de vos massifs, car ces paramètres varient de façon importante d'un cultivar à l'autre. Il est sage de planter un peu plus de bulbes pour les bouquets, car elles tiennent longtemps en vase, et c'est là que les fleurs parfumées de 'Creme Up Star' donneront les plus grandes satisfactions.

- In zones 6 to 7 (Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and lower mountainous regions), flowering will be delayed by 2 to 3 weeks.
- In zone 5 (Central Europe, Scandinavia), blooming will be delayed by 3 to 5 weeks.
In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
