The colors are superb, all the bulbs have taken root, and the flowering is holding up well! Planted alongside the precocious and replete daffodils for a bed in peach tones, it's magnificent!

Description

Tulipa 'Apricot Beauty' is an ancient, timeless and delightful variety, irreplaceable because of the unique hue of its flowers from early April. This award-winning tulip blooms in a delicate and bright colour: a fairly vivid salmon pink washed with pink, taking on shades of bright orange as it opens, then fading to a light pink before fading. Its single cup-shaped flower is as beautiful paired with white, which it warms, or purple, which it tempers. One of the first horticultural tulips to bloom, starting in early April.

Early single 'Apricot Beauty' Tulip belongs to the Lily family. Originally cultivated in the Netherlands in 1953, it is currently classified in Division 1 of tulips, which are known for blooming very early and withstanding bad weather. It will reach a height of about 35 cm (14in) when in bloom. Perched on sturdy stems well above the broadly lanceolate leaves, the narrow cup-shaped flowers are both soft and very bright, and slightly translucent. They are a mix of pink and salmon, sometimes with a few reddish streaks on the edges or at the base of the petals. The delicately orange interior of the flower shows lighter central lines and a small yellow-green throat with dark stamens. It will flower in late March or early April, depending on the climate, at the beginning of the tulip season.

Early single tulips are well-known for their variety of colours, ranging from pastel to vibrant shades and solid and resistant flowers that can be used in beds or to enhance your bouquets. Tulips are unmatched in bringing the colour of spring to pots or sunny gardens. Remember to consider the height and flowering period when designing your beds, as these parameters can vary significantly from one cultivar to another. It is a good idea to plant a few more bulbs for beautiful cut flowers that last a long time in a vase.

Planting and care

Plant your tulips as soon as possible in well-drained, deeply-loosened soil at a depth of 15 cm (6in) (Bulbs should be covered with twice their height of soil). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch. Choose a sunny exposure for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stems but let the leaves dry completely before cutting them. After flowering, their foliage becomes unsightly, so we recommend planting Heuchera, Foamflower, Brunnera, Bleeding Heart or Cypress Spurge at the forefront of your flowerbeds. Their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips and elegantly conceal their yellowed leaves.
