Description

The 'Evergreen' Tulip flowers in April-May. Its beautiful single flowers are green in colour. The flowers are perched at the end of long and sturdy stems.

At maturity, it can reach a height of about 40cm (16in). The single tulip is used for decorating parks and gardens in large beds or small groups. Pair it with other tulips to maximize the flowering period of the beds.

It can also be planted along borders, in rock gardens, flower beds, as well as in pots and containers. It goes well with tall perennials, as well as pansies or primroses. We recommend planting Heucheras, Tiarellas, Brunneras, bleeding hearts, and cypress spurge in the foreground of your beds, as their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips and, during the season, they will elegantly conceal their yellowed leaves.

Planting and care

Place the single 'Evergreen' tulips preferably in a sunny spot from October to December for beautiful spring flowering. You can also place it in a partially shaded location. Plant the bulbs as soon as possible in a light, fertile, and well-drained soil, loosened to a depth of 15cm (6in) (bulbs should be covered with soil twice their height). Space the bulbs 10cm (4in) apart, making sure they do not touch each other; cut the flower stalks after flowering. Allow the leaves to dry completely before cutting them.
