Dahlia Clearview Daniel

The Dahlia 'Clearview Daniel' is a variety known for its perfectly shaped flowers and a yellow colour that is both light and vivid, with a uniform appearance. Of medium size and perfectly round, the flowers are organized in regular alveolates. The plant blooms for several weeks between summer and early autumn. Its very strong stems can vary in height depending on the growing conditions.

Horticultural Dahlias belong to the Asteraceae family. The species from which they originated come from the high plateaus of Mexico. Dahlias' inflorescences are heads, even though we commonly refer to them as "flowers". Currently, thousands of horticultural varieties have been developed by humans.
The variety 'Clearview Daniel' was introduced to the horticultural market in 2013. The plant reaches its adult size after 3 to 4 months of cultivation. Depending on soil fertility, its stems can reach heights between 90 cm and 1.80 m.  It is classified among Decorative Dahlias with Ball type flowers. In this category, the heads have no visible centre, composed of numerous regularly arranged and fully rolled up tubular petals (ligules), never flaring out. This category includes varieties that form true balls, such as pompons (diameter less than 6 cm) and balls (diameter greater than 6 cm).  'Clearview Daniel' forms heads of approximately 8 cm in diameter. The plant has an upright and bushy habit. Flowering begins in July, continuing until October-November, if spent flowers are removed regularly or if frequent bouquets are made. The stems bear leaves divided into 3 or 5 very dentate lobes. The leaves and stems of this variety are a medium green.

The Dahlia 'Clearview Daniel' allows for creating radiant bouquets throughout the season. Its yellow pompons pair well with those of single or white pompon Dahlias ('Snow Cap'), orange ('Orange Breeze'), or red ('Dark Spirit'). In flower beds, this Dahlia creates sunny spots among grasses like Pennisetum. 

A star plant in cottage gardens, Dahlias also thrive alongside vegetable plants, benefiting from fertiliser and water inputs. In Mexico, this tuberous plant was initially cultivated for consumption. The Dahlia, with its infinitely varied shapes and colours, is now considered one of the most popular garden flowers.
