Description

This slug-repellent flower mix contains a variety of annual flowers (Yarrow, Borage, Marigold, Hyssop, etc.) specially designed to combat slugs in the garden.

Thanks to their repellent effect, this selection of flowers will allow you to naturally protect your crops and young seedlings from slugs in the vegetable garden, while creating a beautiful flowerbed. You can plant this slug-fighting flower mix near sensitive vegetables, between rows, or along perimeters.

Sowing of this slug-repellent flower mix is done from April to June, in clear and weed-free, well-prepared soil. Flowering occurs from June to October.

Gardener's tip: to easily achieve a beautiful meadow-like border, we recommend the "false sowing" technique: 15 days to 3 weeks before sowing, prepare your soil by loosening and raking it finely. Water it and wait for the weed seeds to wake up and germinate. When they reach the seedling stage, destroy them with a hoe and then proceed with the actual sowing.

Planting and care

Preparing the ground before sowing a meadow or flower strip:

Preparing the plot for sowing is an important step. It is important to weed if necessary (if you are very foresighted you can cover the ground with cardboard a few months before), then loosen and rake it in order to obtain a beautiful seed bed.

Sowing:

You will then sow by broadcasting and cover the seeds using a rake to stop the birds eating them. Perform initial watering with a fine mist so that the soil remains moist until germination.

To perpetuate your meadow, let the annual flowers go to seed before mowing.
