Description

The Cosmos sulphureus from the Cosmic range are very floriferous and have a compact habit; smaller than other cosmos, they reach a height of 30cm (12in) and can withstand windy locations.

In containers, in beds, or as borders, these Cosmos plants start blooming from June and last until the first frost. The yellow colour of this variety will bring a sunny touch to your garden.

Cosmos is a charming plant with finely cut foliage and its flower symbolizes innocence. Their very long flowering period will supply your summer bouquets and attract butterflies and bees to your garden.

Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, repot and store them in a sheltered place (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before planting them outdoors once the risk of frost is definitively gone.

Planting and care

Plant Cosmos sulphureus in the ground as soon as the last frost is over. Fertilizing the soil is unnecessary and harmful as it promotes foliage growth and delays flowering. Beware of excessive watering and slugs. Pinching the plant and picking its flowers enhances branching.
