Description

Myosotis 'Myomark' is a particularly compact and early selection of forget-me-not. The plant naturally forms a small dense ball, without the need for pinching, and it blooms from mid-February. Its flowers are a beautiful, pure sky blue. It enhances all the plants in the garden or on the terrace, planted at the base of bulbs, shrubs, and perennials. This forget-me-not thrives in cool, fertile, well-drained soil, in either full sun or the partial shade of woodlands. Autumn planting ensures excellent winter to spring flowering.

The Myomark forget-me-not is a plant in the Boraginaceae family originating from, among others, the marsh forget-me-not, known in Latin as Myosotis scorpioides. It is a perennial species common in Western Europe, where it is found in moist to wet environments, in meadows, damp woods, marshes, and on pond or river banks.

The 'Myomark' variety is a short-lived perennial plant, typically grown as a biennial. The plant, propagated from cuttings, forms a cushion measuring 15-20 cm (6-8in) in all directions and is characterised by very early and abundant flowering until May. It forms small rosettes of pubescent and pale green foliage, from which short, hairy, branched stems emerge from April to June, bearing curved inflorescences that lengthen as the flowers bloom. The flowers are 1cm (0in) in diameter, with an extremely vibrant pure blue colour and a small yellow and white centre.

The forget-me-not is traditionally used to highlight bulbous plants and all spring flowers (daffodils, narcissus, primroses) or tulips, as it lightens their blooms. You can also plant it in large groups to create a colourful carpet in perennial beds, borders, and containers. It will thrive in woodland areas alongside bleeding hearts or horned violets. The delicate flowers of forget-me-nots are very decorative in spring bouquets, especially when paired with large flowers such as peonies or roses. Never forgotten, its motto could very well be: "Once planted, always there."

Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant them as soon as possible, either into pots, containers, or directly into the flowerbed.
