Description

Superb perennial orchids, distinguished from orchids by their finger-shaped roots (Dactyle = finger; Rhiza = rhizome). Native to Europe, they have excellent hardiness. The lanceolate foliage disappears early in the season, sometimes as early as late August. They thrive in a cool, moist, humus-bearing soil, even clayey soil. Some can tolerate a limestone soil. Our plants are not collected from the wild, but are divided from plants in our garden. Of course, this process takes time and therefore increases their price, but they are robust and perfectly adapted to the open ground. Quantities are always very limited!

Superb species with the most colourful flowers in the genus: very bright rose-red magenta. For a humus-bearing but well-drained soil in a shaded rockery.
