The 3 plants are mediocre, one of them doesn't even have any leaves. I hope the well-supplied roots will make them recover and this time they will truly be perennials!

Planting and care

Monarda Fireball thrives in full sun and tolerates light shade. Plant it in fairly rich, light, wet to moist but well-drained soil. It cannot tolerate soil drought, even for a few days, or any trace of salt in the soil and that does not like root competition, so give it a spacing of 60 cm (24in). Protect Monarda from excessive winter moisture and do not let the soil dry out in summer. Remove faded flowers and cut back the clump once flowering is finished. Water regularly and generously during the first summer. Water the base in a prolonged summer drought. Monarda is prone to powdery mildew during hot and dry summers. It is a very vigorous plant that needs to be rejuvenated regularly and can be attacked by slugs and snails in spring.
