Description

Lovely perennial plant forming a dense carpet with its creeping stems that progress by rooting. The small round, spatulate leaves, often evergreen in winter, are dark green in colour.

Easy to grow in a woodland setting, in a soil that is rather acidic, rich in leaf compost, moist but well-drained. We have planted a few of them at the base of Japanese maples where they thrive well, forming large colonies.
