Thank you to the staff (for order preparation and shipping), the bare-root rose I received looks healthy. Planted in the ground, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

Description

The See You In Rosé rose is one of the latest additions to the excellent See You® series by Kordes, composed of hybrids of the species Ulthemia persica. It is a healthy and generous small bush that offers abundant and perpetual flowering in small clusters from May until the first frosts. Its small flowers, in a delicate pink adorned with an intense reddish eye, are attractive to pollinating insects. This disease-resistant and easy to maintain rose is ideal for borders or container cultivation on a sunny terrace.

The See You In Rosé rose ‘KORhult004’, introduced in 2021 by the breeder W. Kordes' Söhne, is a persian hybrid rose created by Thomas Proll. It descends from a wild rose native to the steppe regions of Central Asia, discovered in 1784 by the botanist André Michaux, in the Zagros Mountains, straddling Iran and Iraq. The unique feature of its bicolour flowers has since prompted rose breeders to attempt hybridisation with other cosmopolitan species and varieties. After years of research and selection, new and very interesting cultivars have emerged, including the series of 'See You' border roses, developed by Kordes in partnership with Globe Planter.

'See You in Rosé' produces almost single, fluttering flowers, and has an upright bushy habit. The bush reaches approximately 70 cm in height by 50 cm in width. Its flowers measure between 4 and 6 cm in diameter, with 8 delicate pink petals and a light fragrance. The contrast between the dark red heart of the flower and its pastel petals makes this flowering rose a true focal point in the garden. The foliage is dense, composed of small, toothed dark green leaflets. It is very healthy and maintains a beautiful appearance throughout the season. The flowering is perpetual, starting in May-June and renewing until October. The deciduous foliage is absent in winter.

'See You In Rosé' is a subtly exotic rose to showcase in a border or on a terrace. Plant it in groups of 3 to create a large flowering border. You can also mix it with other varieties from the See You® series, for example See You In Red or See You In Purple. To complement your border, plant a white shrub rose like 'Friendly Sweet'. This Persian rose is drought-tolerant, yet hardy enough to withstand winter, making it suitable for almost any location. Consider pairing it with asters like 'Aster Little Carlow.

Planting and care

The rose 'See You In Rosé' is not very demanding on the nature of the soil, but it dreads shallow soils lacking depth as well as heavy and suffocating soils. Plant it in a mix of garden soil and compost, sufficiently loose and well-draining. It thrives in all sufficiently sunny regions, up to 1000 m altitude, not suffering from diseases, cold, or drought once well established. Dry summers may reduce flowering, without harming the plant. It adapts to all gardens, provided it is well planted! Plant it in a sunny exposure. It may be useful to remove dead wood in winter.
