The 'Léo Ferré' Rose is adorned with large original roses with a remarkably contrasting colouration. Its turbinate flowers, generally bicolour, have white petals with a golden yellow base edged with carmine red. Flowering from June to October, this variety will also be appreciated for its respectable disease resistance. It is a highly colourful bush plant, and its roses are long-lasting in a vase.
The 'Léo Ferré' Rose (Adabiterse) is part of the hybrid tea roses recognisable by the beautiful turbinate shape of its flowers. It is a creation of Michel Adam dating back to 2006. It is a bushy shrub with rapid and vigorous growth that reaches about 80 cm (32in) in height and 50-60 cm (20-24in) in width. The flowering is generous in May-June, then it regularly reblooms abundantly, in successive waves, until October. Its flowers are double, 12 cm (5in) wide, slightly flattened, and composed of 30 to 40 petals. The branches, adorned with thorns, are robust and bear healthy foliage, dark purple when young, becoming dark green and glossy. Its disease resistance is good under proper growing conditions. The flowers are solitary, carried by solid, long stems. They are only slightly fragrant. This deciduous and very hardy shrub loses its leaves in autumn. It will thrive in rich, deep soil that remains fresh in summer. Avoid excessively hot exposures.
With its variegated flowers, this modern rose 'Léo Ferré' will dress up the garden in a festive costume until the first frosts. Place it at the front of a shrub bed, in groups of 3 to 5 plants, or isolated in a small, well-maintained garden. Consider pairing it with a white rose Baie des Anges, with small blue, mauve, or white flowers that will highlight it without overshadowing it. Perennial geraniums, catnips, campanulas (lactiflora, rapunculoides), perennial salvias, and foxgloves are good companions for roses. Its long-lasting flowers in a vase allow for the creation of supremely chic and modern bouquets.

Botanical data
Planting your rose requires some preparation. Begin by working the soil to a depth of 40 cubic cm and adding a base amendment like blood, fish, and bone to the bottom of the planting hole. Remove the plant from its pot and position it by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Refill the hole and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. It's essential to water the rose regularly for a few weeks during dry weather to help the roots grow. Use a special rose fertiliser that stimulates plant flowering. Choose a sunny location or partial shade to plant your rose in hot regions.
Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
