Description

The Ballerina Rose is a beautiful cluster-flowered shrub. The single corolla roses bloom in clusters, giving the impression of large bouquets. It is a pink and white variety that blooms from early summer to autumn.

This vigorous shrub rose resists the usual enemies of roses and does not require much pruning except for the removal of dead wood. It grows in a very elegant manner, with its branches slightly bending under the weight of the flowers. Use it in flower beds with some tall perennials, for example. It is also suitable for use in informal hedges with other flowering bushes. It is worth noting that it also performs well in semi-shaded areas.

This Ballerina Rose belongs to the hybrid musk family. The varieties derived from this Rosa moschata, or musk rose, have inherited its strong vigour and characteristic cluster-like flowering, which remains consistent throughout the summer. Their roses also have a subtle musky fragrance that is very pleasant but discreet.

Planting and care

Rose Ballerina is perfectly suited to sunny and semi-shady situations. While it doesn't appreciate excessive limestone, it tolerates it. It will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well-worked and sufficiently rich. To plant your rose, prepare the soil by breaking it up and adding an amendment, such as dried blood or dehydrated horn, to the bottom of the planting hole. Water thoroughly after planting to remove any air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root development. Pruning is limited to removing dead wood, and you can also thin out the centre of the bush by pruning crossing branches. As the flowers bloom, remove faded flowers to promote the development of other buds. Roses are often spotted or unsightly at the end of summer, but this is not a problem for their growth. These spots are not harmful to the rose; they are a natural phenomenon.
