Tulipa Brown Sugar

Triumph tulip 'Brown Sugar' is spectacular, with a mix of fantastic colours. Sweet and sugary like an exotic cocktail, this bicoloured tulip harmoniously blends coppery orange and muted red on its large corollas. The 'Brown Sugar' Tulip is a fairly recent creation, dating back to 2009. It belongs to the Liliaceae family. Of horticultural origin, it is currently classified in the 'Triumph' group, whose main characteristic is flowers with a narrow cup shape. Perched on tall stems of 35-40 cm (14-16in) above the broadly lanceolate leaves, the single flowers are perfectly formed and richly coloured with caramel, apricot, and old rose shades. They have six "petals" (more precisely tepals) that pale to a creamy tone as they mature. They will flower in April-May, in the heart of the tulip season.
