Our selection of plants for a Dark Academia garden, between Victorian library and cabinet of curiosities. The centrepiece of this trend, the Old Gallic Rose 'Charles de Mills', with its large, very double violet-purple roses, establishes an atmosphere of a historic, intimate, and gently melancholic garden. At its feet, the Sweet William 'Sooty' forms a cloud of small brown-purple flowers.
In this monochrome of inks and old velvets, the Poppy 'Amazing Grey' unfurls its smoky grey, crumpled petals which enhance the sumptuous corollas of the rose. The Baptisia 'Dutch Chocolate', a robust perennial, forms an upright clump topped with chocolate-brown spikes in early summer.
