Carex, also known as sedges, are close to grasses and have decorative foliage, often variegated with white, yellow, or cream. Our range of variegated Carex brings light and texture to borders, beds, and planters.

Carex oshimensis 'Everest' is appreciated for its green leaves edged with white, forming dense and elegant clumps. It is perfect for brightening borders and planters. Carex morrowii 'Ice Dance' displays elegant foliage highlighted by a very fine white margin. This evergreen sedge is also valued for its robustness and its ability to spread gently, covering the soil. Carex oshimensis 'Evergold' offers the brightest foliage, streaked with yellow and green. This compact variety is ideal for small spaces, rockeries, or bed borders.

These variegated Carex prefer a partially shaded to sunny exposure with well-drained but moist soil, and tolerate periods of drought well once established. Removing damaged leaves in winter is enough to preserve their decorative appearance.
