Beautiful bulbs potted in September, but the flowering was not at all late! All 6 bulbs bloomed (2 even produced 2 stems) as early as March! And the colour is not at all like in the photo: the flowers were initially a very beautiful and vibrant orange, streaked with green, then the colour softened; beautiful flowers but not 'nude'!

Description

The Triumph Tulip 'Peace Flame' is a true gem. Its slightly pink colour with a touch of violet is accompanied by golden yellow and tender green flames at the base of the petals. The softness of these colours gives this spring flower a soothing touch.

The 'Peace Flame' Tulip is perfect for extending the flowering period of your tulip beds as it blooms a little later than early varieties. Mix them with other tulips and bulbs or insert them into perennial beds where the flowers take longer to bloom. It also looks great in a pot or planter to beautify balconies and terraces.

Triumph tulips are essential in the garden, with their long, sturdy stems and ability to withstand harsh weather. These qualities make them excellent cut flowers.

Planting and care

Plant your 'Peace Flame' tulips as soon as possible in a well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant at a depth of 15cm (6in) (Bulbs should be covered with twice their height of soil). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch. Choose a sunny location for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stalks and allow the leaves to dry completely before cutting them. After flowering, their foliage becomes unsightly and we recommend planting Heucheras, Tiarelles, Brunneras, Bleeding Hearts, Cypress Spurge at the front of your flower beds. Their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips and throughout the season, they will elegantly conceal their yellowed leaves.
