9 bulbs have bloomed out of the 10. Beautiful pure white. Supposed to be several-flowered and measure 50cm (20in) in height, the first ones only measure about 20cm (8in) and the flowers are single-flowered but will hopefully acquire their characteristics at ripeness." Analysis of the translated text: - "bloomed out" is more commonly used in British English instead of "flowered". - "pure white" is the correct phrase to use. - "several-flowered" is used correctly. - "measure" is used correctly to indicate height. - "first ones" is a more natural way to refer to the initial flowers. - "measure about" is used correctly. - "single-flowered" is the correct term to use. - "acquire their characteristics at ripeness" is the correct phrase to indicate that the flowers will develop their intended features as they mature.

Description

Tulipa 'Weisse Berliner' is a very pretty white tulip producing multiple flowers on each stem. The purity and profusion of its immaculately white flowers make a spectacle in the garden, in a pot, and in bouquets. Each bulb produces a branching floral stem. Each branch carries a beautiful white tulip, forming a natural-looking bouquet, far from the somewhat stiff appearance that some tulips can have.

Tulipa 'Weisse Berliner' belongs to the Liliaceae family. Of horticultural origin, multi-flowered tulips have a branching floral stem that gives rise to several smaller-sized flowers. The elegant flowers appear at the top of leafy floral stems that are 50cm (20in) tall. Each stem can bear 3 to 7 perfect white blooms. Initially in the form of a narrow cup, they open into wide corollas. The leaves are broadly lanceolate and have a glaucous green colour. Flowering takes place in the middle of the tulip season, in April or May depending on the region. The foliage turns yellow and then dries up a few weeks after flowering, while the bulb goes into dormancy.

Tulipa 'Weisse Berliner' is ideal in all sunny flower beds. Its pure white flowers combine with tulips and flowers of all colours. Mix it with daffodils, hyacinths, or even Corsican hellebores, lady's mantles, and euphorbias for beautiful scenes. It can be planted in borders, rockeries, flower beds, pots, and containers. This tulip beautifully decorates balconies and patios. It pairs perfectly with tall perennials like peonies. The flowers are ideal for creating elegant bouquets. Only use a little water in a vase. If your tulips open too quickly, you can add two to three ice cubes to the vase each day.

Planting and care

Plant your bulbs as soon as possible in well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant at a depth of 15cm (6in) (the bulbs should be covered with twice their height of soil). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch each other. Choose a sunny location for better flowering. Cut the flower stalks after flowering and let the leaves dry completely before cutting them. After flowering, their foliage becomes unsightly, so we recommend planting heuchera, tiarella, brunnera, bleeding heart, or Euphorbia cyparissia at the forefront of your flower beds. Their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips, and will elegantly conceal the tulip's yellowed leaves.
