Description

We offer a collection of 3 Agapanthus consisting of:

1 Agapanthus 'Doctor Brouwer'

1 Agapanthus africanus 'Albus'

1 Agapanthus 'Navy Blue'

Agapanthus are perennial plants that form clumps of arching strap-like leaves, from which emerge large round umbels of bell-shaped flowers. They are moderately hardy and should be grown in pots in northern Europe. It is advisable to mulch them in case of severe frost. They prefer a rich and moist but well-drained soil.

Over time, they will form stronger clumps.

Planting and care

Plant agapanthus by covering them with at least 10 cm (4in) of good soil so that they can withstand the cold. It is essential to plant them in spring and mulch them in winter. For pot cultivation, use 5 young plants for a 24 cm (9in) pot and protect your pots in winter. They prefer a rich and moist but well-drained soil. Water them regularly during the growth period (twice a week), but avoid overwatering them. They are sensitive to excessive winter moisture.
