Roscoeas, originating from mountainous regions of East Asia, are very beautiful flowers resembling orchids. From the ginger family, they develop lanceolate green leaves that die in autumn and reappear in the following spring. Their very original tubular flowers develop in June. The Roscoea Beesiana alba variety with white flowers, the Roscoea Cautleyoide variety with yellow flowers, and the Roscoea Purpurea variety with large violet flowers marked with white are among some of the rarest. Easy to cultivate, Roscoeas grow in fertile, slightly acidic, well-drained, and moist soil during the growing season. A sunny or semi-shaded exposure is necessary for beautiful flowering. In cold regions, mulch the soil to protect the bulbs from temperatures below -12°C (10.4°F). It is also possible to cultivate these plants in a pot. Roscoeas look magnificent when accompanied by Rodgersias, Cimicifugas, or Hostas.

You'll adore them!
