Description

Nerine bowdenii 'Isobel' is a perennial bulbous plant that blooms in September-October. It bears clusters of 2 to 12 bright pink star-shaped flowers, measuring 8 to 10cm (3 to 4in) in diameter. It reaches up to 50cm (20in) in height.

The deciduous leaves are slender, 20cm (8in) long and 1cm (0.4in) wide. They are arranged in two rows.

Originating from South Africa, this plant is semi-hardy. It is wise to cultivate it in a pot. However, you can also place it in flower borders with well-drained soil. You can also plant the bulb in a pocket of pure sand.

Its cut flowers have a long vase life.
