Hello, very beautiful young plant, but out of three shoots, I only have one left. I would like to divide it. If anyone has any advice, thank you in advance.

Description

Originating from the Japanese undergrowth, Anemonopsis macrophylla has large, finely cut, light green foliage. The sculptural but delicate flowers are formed by bluish-white petals, at the top of flexible, erect stems, which are dark brownish at the base.

The robust stump requires acidic soil, without any trace of limestone, rich in humus and well-drained, in a cool and humid, shaded and sheltered environment.

Its main enemy: the hot air current in summer that scorches the foliage. Robust, it will produce new leaves the following spring, but if every summer is hot, dry and windy, the plant will decline.

To be reserved for cool, mild and humid climates. Cold resistance to about -15°C (5°F) without protection. Beyond that: cover the stump with about 20cm (8in) of dead leaves. In good conditions, it can live for several decades without any special care.
