The young plants quickly acclimated and are now 50 cm (20in) tall. It's important to weed them well at the beginning.

Description

The Achillea millefolium 'Chamois' is a beautiful perennial appreciated for its highly dissected aromatic foliage and its inflorescences in large flat corymbs of pale red to chamomile pink.

Originally from Europe, this hardy plant, with creeping stems, forms a compact tuft with an upright habit of 60cm (24in) in height. It develops deciduous, linear, highly dissected, green leaves. From July to September, flat and compact corymbs of pale red flowers turning to chamomile pink, 10 cm (4in) in diameter, are carried on hairy stems. As a medicinal perennial, it possesses healing, hemostatic, antispasmodic, and tonic properties. Its young shoots can be used in omelettes or salads.

The Achillea millefolium 'Chamois' prefers a rather dry and slightly calcareous soil, but clayey soils are accepted if they are light and well amended. It has a preference for a sunny exposure.

The Achillea millefolium 'Chamois' is easy to grow and tolerates drought well. It is therefore ideal in flower beds or in borders accompanied by Daylilies or Catmints.
