Our Boho Patio selection starts with Dahlia ‘American Dawn’, whose large, coppery-coloured flowers set the tone: a warm, lived-in, relaxed terrace, where terracotta pots, colourful textiles and generous foliage create a bohemian décor. You'll find floriferous plants, aromatic herbs and a few unusual vegetable curiosities to create a welcoming patio.
The Collarette Dahlia ‘Pooh’, with its red and yellow flowers, adds a vibrant, artistic note in a pot. Giant Sunflower ‘Sungold’ towers over other plants with its tall stature, crowned by large golden pompons, while Delosperma Ocean Sunset Orange Glow, a carpeting perennial purslane, beautifully dresses the edges of containers and very sunny spots. Basil Everleaf Emerald Tower, with its upright habit, introduces an edible, vertical accent, perfect near a dining area. The Black-fruited Pomegranate ‘Asma’ brings a more Mediterranean character, with its elegant foliage, vermilion flowers, black fruits and the look of a perfect patio shrub.
On a patio, the main points to watch are summer watering, exposure to wind and the space available for the roots. Also discover on our page "Pot-scaping - Container garden", our best outdoor potted plants. And, for further reading, check out our feature How to arrange a small terrace?
