Orange Peruvian lilies are varieties of Alstroemeria that display flowers in shades of apricot, salmon, coral, or bright orange. Depending on their height, they can be planted in containers, along borders, or at the heart of a summer flower bed. Their long flowering period, which can extend from June to October-November, produces light yet warm lily-like flowers, highly prized in cut flower arrangements.

If you're after a strong colour and stems for cutting, Alstroemeria aurea ‘Orange King’ is a reliable choice. This tall variety reaches about 80 cm and bears light orange flowers accented with yellow. Lower down, ‘Duchesses Aliénor’ forms a compact clump of 35-40 cm, covered in large salmon-orange flowers speckled with brown. 'Valley Girl’, around 45 cm tall, with pinkish-orange petals and a yellow throat, suits both containers and borders. In a more naturalistic flower bed, ‘Sweet Laura’ reaches nearly 70 cm and blends golden yellow, burnt orange, and mahogany on its fragrant flowers.
