Anthemis Grandaisy Gold - Marguerite

The Argyranthemum Grandaisy Gold, also known as Anthemis, is a brand new hybrid variety of anthemis that stands out for its good resistance to diseases, cold and wet weather, and heat, allowing it to acclimatise in most of our regions where it will flower for 5-6 months, until the first frost. Its flowers are similar to daisies, with a bright yellow colour punctuated by a small brown-red centre, and they tirelessly bloom on a small ramified bush. Easy to grow, it is an ideal variety for large flowering pots, as well as for rock gardens or flower beds.

The Argyranthemum Grandaisy Gold is a recent horticultural hybrid belonging to the Asteraceae family. The Grandaisy® series, developed by the creators of the famous Surfinia petunia, is characterised by large inflorescences and undeniable ease of cultivation. It brings together perennials commonly grown as annuals. They are beautiful ornamentals with a long flowering period, requiring little maintenance. The 'Gold' selection will reach 45 to 55 cm (21.7 in) in all directions. It has a fast growth rate. The abundant flowering takes place from May-June to October, even more generously if faded flowers are regularly removed. The flowers resemble daisies, with a bright and contrasting colour, golden yellow with a brown-red centre. The stems are highly ramified, with bipinnately lobed leaves, composing a very abundant decorative foliage, green-blue, aromatic when crushed, and with a very light appearance. It is evergreen in frost-free conditions.

Being sun lovers par excellence, anthemis particularly dislike excessive humidity in winter. In climates spared by frost, plant them in open ground, in well-drained ordinary soil, slightly acidic, neutral, or strongly calcareous. Forming delightful rounded and fully bloomed clumps in a very short time, the 'Grandaisy Gold' Chrysanthemum looks superb in the company of fennels, perennial flax, borage, cosmos, or blue and white love-in-a-mist. It can be very useful for starting a brand new garden after construction work. It can be installed in wildflower meadows with Asphodeline lutea, Asclepias tuberosa, but also in more manicured flower beds, rock gardens, bordering stairs, or along a winding path in a steep garden. And of course, it offers a fantastic spectacle in flowering pots, accompanied by Dichondra 'Silver Falls', silver ragwort, Begonia sempervirens, ageratums, or dwarf snapdragons, on the terrace or balcony.

Note: Please be aware that our young plants in mini-pots are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them in a sheltered place (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame...) at a temperature above 14C° for a few weeks before being installed outdoors once all risk of frost has passed.
