Out of the 3 plants bought this year, only 1 shoot grew. I thought they had struggled to thrive this year in our garden. However, I had taken cuttings from last year's plants, placed them in the conservatory over winter. Everything sprouted back this summer without any issues.

Description
This Ipomoea Sweet Caroline Light Green is a new variety of sweet potato with remarkably bright foliage designed for summer compositions. This frost-sensitive perennial plant grows very quickly and is typically grown as an annual. In just one season, it forms a sprawling dome with stems adorned with graphic chartreuse green foliage, beautifully divided into lobes reminiscent of oak leaves. This award-winning variety is highly heat-resistant and requires minimal maintenance, aside from regular watering. It is an incredible plant that can transform a hanging basket or a flower pot. It also makes for an original ground cover in sunny flower beds.
Ipomoea batatas is a plant from the Convolvulaceae family native to Central America and the Pacific islands. In its country of origin, it is a climbing perennial plant that can reach lengths of 1 to 3 metres (3 to 10 feet). 'Sweet Caroline Light Green' is a dwarf form, selected for its foliage and compact, spreading habit, which adds great ornamental value. This plant forms a rounded, dense, and branching clump that can trail or spread, depending on whether it is grown in a hanging basket or as a ground cover. It reaches a height of approximately 30cm (12in) in one season, with a minimum diameter of 70cm (28in). The large, palmate leaves are divided into five elongated lobes, lime green in colour, finely edged with a darker green, and pointed at their tips. This plant produces few flowers, small pink funnels, and is very adaptable to different soil types, as well as being tolerant of heat and summer drought.
Ipomoea 'Sweet Caroline Light Green' is used in flower compositions, in containers, flower pots, or hanging baskets. Combine the light and bright green foliage with the dark foliage of Ipomoea 'Illusion Midnight', for example, and the pink flowers of Diascias or pelargoniums. It will create unique annual borders and ground covers, providing a luminous backdrop for taller perennials. The foliage is lighter when the plant is placed in a sunny location and more green in semi-shade.
Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners. Upon receipt, transplant and store them in a sheltered location (greenhouse, conservatory, cold frame...) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before placing them outdoors, once the risk of frost has passed.
