Very disappointed! Bought it last year, it flowered very little in the pot and didn't come back this year. I won't buy it again.

Description

The Nemesia 'Fairy Kisses Boysenberry' is a brand new variety of nemesia that stands out for its remarkable floriferousness, its neat and compact habit, and the original colour of its small flowers, which are also pleasantly fragrant. Its mauve and purple corollas, highlighted with a yellow tip, bloom in abundance and almost continuously, creating a stunning effect of delicately multicoloured clouds in hanging baskets and containers. Its well-branched growth gives it good resistance to harsh weather conditions. It should be placed in a gently sunny site, in fertile and well-drained soil.

Nemesia strumosa, also known as African Nemesia, is a perennial plant belonging to the Scrophulariaceae family, native to South Africa, with rapid growth. Its low frost resistance means it is commonly grown as an annual. It is the source of many horticultural varieties, continuously improving in terms of floriferousness and durability. The 'Fairy Kisses Boysenberry' cultivar is one of these new and quite fantastic creations, offering almost continuous and fragrant flowering from May to October on well-branched and upright plants.

'Fairy Kisses Boysenberry' produces a multitude of charming symmetrical small flowers, less than 1 cm (0in) in size, half of which are purple while the other half has a very soft mauve tone. They are centred around a golden yellow throat that stands out from afar and emits a very pleasant scent of honey and vanilla that attracts pollinators. Gathered at the end of sturdy and leafy stems, these flowers seem to float on a graceful clump 30 cm (12in) in all directions, with a dense, rounded and upright habit. The foliage consists of small, heavily toothed lanceolate leaves, green-grey in colour. This well-branched plant is resistant to wind and rain. It is hardy down to approximately -3°C (26.6°F).

From the first days of spring, the vibrant or pastel colours of nemesias light up the flowerbeds in towns and villages. On terraces and in gardens these fresh plants, with their extremely graceful dense and light habit, are perfect for hanging baskets, balcony planters, all types of containers, and even perennial borders, preferably in full sun. They are easy to grow in the garden and yield spectacular results when planted in containers. Use them also as edging, in a mix of colours, or in combination with geraniums, lobelias, verbenas, petunias, etc.

Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them under cover (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before placing them outdoors once the risk of frost has definitively passed.

Planting and care

Plant your Fairy Kisses Boysenberry nemesias in a sunny location or alternatively in partial shade. They require a light, fertile and humus-rich soil and appreciate a fertiliser input. They do not tolerate high temperatures combined with significant humidity very well. You can plant your nemesias in a flowerbed or in pots. In pots, these young plants must be regularly watered. Planting should be done after the end of frost, in spring. In summer, during periods of high heat, do not hesitate to prune the plant severely (10-15 cm (4-6in) from the base) between two flowering periods in order to promote the formation of new flowering shoots.
