The Lantana 'Passion Fruit' is a compact and well-branched variety ideal for adding bright and fragrant touches to your summer displays. Its spherical clusters of multicoloured flowers combine shades of rich pink, golden orange, and vibrant yellow, which bloom from tightly packed darker buds. The soft and continuous flowering extends from June to October, offering a highly colourful display even in hot weather. Perfect for hanging baskets, containers, raised beds, or herbaceous borders, this lantana also emits a soft fragrance that adds to its charm.

The Lantana camara, also known as the Lantana, belongs to the Verbena family. Native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Central America, the Caribbean, and South America, it has spread widely in warm climates around the world. Not very hardy, this plant can withstand minimum temperatures of around -6°C to -7°C for short periods, but it is mainly grown as an annual in our temperate climates. Its easy maintenance and ability to flower abundantly throughout the season make it a favourite among gardeners.

The 'Passion Fruit' selection reaches a modest size of 30 to 40 cm in height and width, developing a well-branched and compact habit. Its quadrangular stems bear single, pinnate, and deeply veined, slightly glossy dark green leaves, which create a perfect contrast with its multicoloured flowers. The spherical inflorescences measuring about 4 to 5 cm in diameter offer a palette of warm colours that evolve over time.

This Lantana 'Passion Fruit' thrives in full sun, in well-drained, even quite poor or slightly sandy soil. Low-maintenance and requiring little water, it simply requires removing the faded flowers to encourage continuous flowering. In mild climates, it can be overwintered in a conservatory or cold greenhouse to regrow the following year. Paired with the flowers of Lobelias, lavenders, vervain, or catmints, the 'Passion Fruit' will create vibrant and dynamic displays. Its warm colours also make it perfect for accompanying calibrachoa or mini-petunia in pots or hanging baskets.
