Description

The Geranium Prelude has the charm of simplicity, its small but numerous flowers give it a light appearance and the petal color brings just the right amount of freshness.

The lavender blue petals are striated with ultramarine veins and accompanied by pink stigmas in the center. The flowers rise above beautiful tender green foliage. The flowering period is shorter than in other varieties, but what a delight!

This perennial geranium is very vigorous, planted in the shade it will develop without any problem, it will be most beautiful in spring in the undergrowth. Don't hesitate to combine the lavender blue flowers with yellow or golden foliage or flowers for interesting contrasts.

Planting and care

Place the Geranium sylvaticum Prelude in the sun or partial shade in a preferably moist but well-draining soil. To plant your young plant, work the soil in a 20 cm (8in) cube, crumble the soil and place a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant, removing it from its pot, and cover the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole, tamp down, and water thoroughly to remove any air pockets. During dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root establishment.
